Battery Rally to Win
The Charleston Battery beat the St. Louis Coeur, 6-5, in 11 innings. Charleston pitcher and Pasadena, Texas, native Pham Phung led the way. Javier Camacho snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jon Curtis suffered the loss. The defeat makes St. Louis 1-5.

Bret Latham drove in one run for Charleston. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, Latham, who finished 4th in the 3L in doubles with 29 in 2058, had a clutch at-bat. Facing St. Louis hurler Jon Curtis, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Battery a 5-4 lead.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Matt Hunt, the Charleston skipper. "This one tested us."
