Chris Johnston imposed his will on the Liberty from the get-go. Relying mainly on his sinker, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Hollywood triumph. Johnston, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Skip Lewis nailed down his 5th save.

In the bottom of the second, Kuniaki Yoshioka delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Hollywood left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Shredders in front, 4-1.

Yoshioka said his team "played with determination."

The Shredders raised their record to 7-16.
