Thanks in large part to catcher Júlio Gil, the Kingston Ponies beat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 8-3. Gil was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the win, Kingston climbs to 4-3.

Gil contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Kingston in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Gil took a slider from Steve Hale and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Ponies to leap in front, 4-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Kingston skipper Rayzor Ray.
