Charleston Defeats Nova Scotia, 4-3

The Charleston Battery picked up a win at The Dungeon in Halifax, knocking off the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 4-3. Starting pitcher Immeghar Cherono was a big reason why. Cherono, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Wesley Perkins was credited with the save for Charleston, his 3rd of the season.
Rich Lee, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Battery organization, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lee contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Charleston up, 4-2.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Cherono.
The win gives Charleston a record of 7-2.
