The Dayton Dirty Reds had to overcome a fine effort from St. Louis pitcher Edgardo García to win, 3-2, at Lang Park. García went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Dayton pitcher Ioachime Yakutin got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Joe Roberts got the loss. With the win, Dayton climbs to 5-4.

The Dirty Reds were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 31-year old second baseman Ed Mooney landed a big blow. He turned a 1-0 splitter from Joe Roberts into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Lang Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Dirty Reds home with a thrilling 3-2 win.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said St. Louis manager Scott McMahon. "The effort was great."
