The Nova Scotia Leviathan downed the Charleston Battery, 9-5, at The Dungeon in Halifax. Efren Cereza led the way, going 4-for-5 for Nova Scotia. Ron Gunther, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 1-0. The win moves Nova Scotia to a record of 6-4.

Greg Hudson had a big 2-run double for the Leviathan in the bottom of the third inning. With Nova Scotia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Henry Fletcher and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Leviathan ahead, 3-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Hudson after the game.
