Cape Coral and Dayton duked it out and the Hurricanes came out victorious.

Cape Coral picked up a win at Factory of Sadness, bumping off the Dayton Dirty Reds, 4-2. Pitcher Chris Lee was a major reason the Hurricanes emerged victorious. Lee yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 5, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. Earning his 4th save of the year was Jorge Ortíz.

The Dirty Reds had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hurricanes going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old third baseman Brian Byrd came to the plate. Byrd hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Dayton hurler Josh Martin. It was Byrd's 6th double of the year.

Byrd attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
