|
Though he had a stellar game, Miguel Núñez could not prevent his team, the Cape Coral Hurricanes, from losing, 8-6, to the Dayton Dirty Reds. Núñez went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Mike Carney recorded his 3rd save for Dayton. The win puts Dayton at 7-4.
Dayton used a timely hit from Vasan Parthiban to get the win. The first baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dirty Reds ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We take it day by day here," said Parthiban, "and today was a good one for us."
