Charleston beat Kingston on the strength of starting pitcher Pham Phung's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Charleston, now 9-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.

The Battery got a big hit from catcher George Dailey. In the bottom of the sixth, Dailey smacked a 2-run double off Kingston pitcher William Elliott. It was his 3rd double of the season. Suddenly, the Battery were ahead, 4-3.

"Pham was really on it," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
