Starting pitcher Jim Hunter was a major factor in the 2-0 Dayton Dirty Reds triumph over the D.C. Divided. Stanley Thompson earned the save for Dayton, his 4th of the year. Dayton, now 8-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Roberto Soto hit a run-scoring double off Ignacio Rodríguez in the bottom of the third, which put the Dirty Reds in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Soto had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
