The Detroit Rock City defeated the Mexico City Blue Demons, 4-3, in Menard's Third League action at Detroit Stadium. Detroit pitcher Chin-seok Kim had a standout performance. Raúl Santos, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Rock City with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Had Gareth Holz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Holz hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Rock City.

"Nice to get this one," said Kim. "Wins have been hard to come by."
