Win Makes Cape Coral 7-7

The Cape Coral Hurricanes picked up a win at Factory of Sadness, knocking off the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bob Smithley played a key role in the triumph. Smithley, now 1-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. For the Northern Lions BC, the loss makes them 5-9.
With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Alex Thomas hit a go-ahead, run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and with it the Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Thomas told the Cape Coral Times.
