Dayton Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
The home team gave the crowd some walk-off drama.

The Dayton Dirty Reds grabbed a win, 8-6, over the D.C. Divided at Lang Park. Dayton designated hitter Xavier Ortíz went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dayton reliever Stanley Thompson picked up the win to move to 1-2. Tommy Huber suffered the loss.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Dayton. That's when Bob Dennis, who finished 4th in the 3L in stolen bases with 33 last year, hit a 3-run home run off Tommy Huber to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"This place was rockin'," Ortíz said.

The win leaves Dayton with a record of 9-6.
