Behind a solid performance from left fielder Mitsuo Suzuki, the Kingston Ponies defeated the St. Louis Coeur, 6-3. Suzuki was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Ponies. Kingston reliever Li-ping Cheng picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Bruce Viera was tagged with the loss. Picking up his 4th save was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Fred Hull.

Early in the game, Suzuki had a 2-run home run for Kingston. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Ponies on top, 4-2.

Kingston manager Rayzor Ray called it "a pretty good win."

The Coeur, at 5-11, have stumbled out of the gate.
