The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC overcame a pretty good performance by Cape Coral shortstop Alex Thomas, beating the Hurricanes, 5-3, at Great Northern Field. Thomas went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Steve Hale closed the game out for Thunder Bay, earning his 2nd save. Cape Coral now is 10-6.

Thunder Bay took a 4-3 lead on Kevin Archer's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Archer hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Cape Coral pitcher Frederick Anderson visibly frustrated.

"I felt good up there," said Archer. "I saw the ball well."
