Weaver Pounds 2 Homers in 5-3 Battery Win
|
Christian Weaver was a major contributor to the 5-3 Charleston win over Thunder Bay. The Battery designated hitter belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Edward Brown, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Northern Lions BC drop to 6-11, as their stumbling start to the 2063 season continues.
Weaver had a timely hit for Charleston in the bottom of the eighth. With Charleston trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Charleston.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Weaver said.
