Buckhead Bowties starter Max Meltdown worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 6-1. In 7.1 innings, Meltdown surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. With the loss, Nova Scotia falls to 5-13.
The Bowties got an important contribution from center fielder Tony Maldonado, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 0-2 cutter to left for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Bowties ahead, 3-0.
"I had a good game," said Maldonado. "Winning makes it even better."
