Dayton center fielder Edgar Zwarthoed had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the D.C. Divided, 5-3. Glenn Hughes, the winning pitcher, is now 3-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 4. Mike Carney earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.

Dayton left fielder Lang Ouyang produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the ninth with José Cortéz on the mound and Dayton leading 4-3. Ouyang drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Zwarthoed told the Dayton News.

The Dirty Reds, now 14-6, have been sizzling early on.
