Pandas Handle Dirty Reds, Nab 8-4 Win
|
The Montana Pandas defeated the Dayton Dirty Reds, 8-4, at Panda Park. Claude Berry was a standout performer for Montana. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Montana reliever Ed Moore snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. William Gordon shouldered the loss. The win has Montana at 7-14.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Berry delivered big-time for Montana, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off William Gordon. The game-changing hit put the Pandas on top, 5-4.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Dayton manager David Dodds.
