Roberson Slugs 2 Home Runs, Ponies Beat Rock City, 8-6

Kingston and Detroit duked it out and the Ponies came out victorious.
The Kingston Ponies defeated the Detroit Rock City, 8-6, at Megaffin Park. Kingston right fielder Clifton Roberson had a superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The win was credited to Li-ping Cheng in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Raúl Santos took the loss. Fred Hull earned save number 6 this season.
Kingston went up, 8-6, on Holden Hart's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hart hit in the bottom of the eighth, made Detroit pitcher Raúl Santos grimace.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hart said.
Kingston raised its record to 11-11 with the win.
