Late Rally Earns Thunder Bay 9-5 Win
Great Northern Field was the site for Menard's Third League action featuring the Dayton Dirty Reds and Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC.

The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC overcame a pretty good performance by Dayton second baseman Steven Forrest, beating the Dirty Reds, 9-5, at Great Northern Field. Forrest went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Northern Lions BC saw their win-loss record go to 10-12. At the same time, the Dirty Reds fell to 14-8.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter James Carroll came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dayton pitcher Ioachime Yakutin, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Thunder Bay on top, 6-5.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Carroll.
