Mezzatesta Helps Dayton Cruise to 10-3 Win
The Dayton Dirty Reds cut down the Cape Coral Hurricanes by the score of 10-3, with the largest share of the credit going to third baseman Fernando Mezzatesta. Mezzatesta was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Dirty Reds. Dayton is now 14-8, while Cape Coral is 10-12.

With Dayton leading 4-1 in the top of the fifth, Mezzatesta hit a curveball from Bob Smithley for a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 8-1.
