Charleston and Baltimore got after it at Baltimore Grounds.
Charleston Battery starter Immeghar Cherono turned in an exceptional performance against the Baltimore Bullets at Baltimore Grounds, resulting in a Charleston win, 4-2. Cherono picked up the win for Charleston, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Juan Carlos Mejía recorded the save, his 8th.
Center Fielder José Torres made an impact for Charleston, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Frank Vetter in the top of the fourth. For the contest, Torres went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a good effort all around," said Torres.
Charleston is second in the Third League with a record of 17-9.
