The Charleston Battery extended their losing streak with a defeat by the St. Louis Coeur.

The St. Louis Coeur powered past the Charleston Battery, 9-2, at Charleston Armory. Yoshihito Takeuchi provided some of the pop. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. St. Louis, at 11-16, sits in 10th place in the Third League.

Helping the St. Louis cause was Ricardo Pérez. In the top of the second, the 24-year old center fielder had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 3-1, Coeur.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Pérez.
