Despite a great performance by Kingston shortstop David Vargas, the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Ponies by the score of 6-5 in 10 innings at Great Northern Field. Vargas went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Darius Brooks, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. The 6th-place Northern Lions BC now have a record of 14-13.

The Northern Lions BC nabbed the win, in part because of right fielder Jorge Costa. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered the game-winning run-scoring single.
