Flamingos Lose to Battery, 2-1

The Charleston Battery and Las Vegas Flamingos put on a pitchers' duel.
The Charleston Battery racked up a win at Charleston Armory, bumping off the Las Vegas Flamingos, 2-1. Miguel Hernández, who started for Charleston, pitched effectively for his team. The 7th-place Battery raised their record to 13-15.
The Flamingos had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Battery going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old shortstop Alan Coxall came to the plate. Coxall hit a 2-run double on a first pitch knuckleball from Las Vegas hurler Troy Dalton. It was Coxall's 7th double of the year.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Hernández.
