In a tight contest between the Oakland Oaks and the Nova Scotia Leviathan, Craig Smith was the determining factor. The Oakland right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. The winner was Smith. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Martín Cedeño. Jack Parker, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Ai-de Lau, who led the 3L in RBI with 76 in 2058, had an important at-bat. With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, he hit a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put Oakland on top, 2-0.
