Kingston shortstop David Vargas pounded Nova Scotia Leviathan pitchers at The Dungeon in Halifax, but it was not enough to keep the Ponies from falling, 10-4. Vargas went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Nova Scotia, with the win, is 9-25.

The Leviathan got a lift from catcher Stan Bynings, who in the bottom of the fifth stroked a 1-1 fastball to right for a 2-run single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Leviathan ahead, 3-1.

"What we get, we earn," Bynings told the Nova Scotia News.
