Bowties Topple Leviathan with Late Rally
|
The Buckhead Bowties grabbed a win, 9-6, over the Nova Scotia Leviathan at 5 Paces Park. Buckhead shortstop Allan Adams was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Ken Hickton, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. At 17-19, Buckhead is in 7th place in the Third League.
Had Shu-yaan Hor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hor hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Bowties.
"Allan was ready to go. Big day for him," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
