The Hollywood Shredders beat the Toledo Stingers, 5-3. Hollywood pitcher and Honolulu, Hawaii, native Alex Thompson led the way. Mark Sims collected save number 8. The 'W' lifts Hollywood's record to 14-12.
Esteban Ortega hit a 2-run triple off Jorge Souza in the bottom of the third, which put the Shredders in front, 2-0. Ortega had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"We ground out the win," said Ortega. "That's all that matters."
