Jersey City Grounds was the site of the home opener for the Jersey City Tritons. The contest featured a prime matchup between Frank Vetter of the visiting Norfolk Pajaritos and Ed Davenport of the Tritons. The final score was 3-0, the Pajaritos getting the win. Frank Vetter turned in the best performance. The save went to Román Bastardo, number 1 for him.

Vetter was in the zone all game. He frustrated Jersey City hitters while giving the Pajaritos 8 innings of quality work. Vetter threw 100 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 4 punchouts.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Vetter told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
