Maldonado Hits 2 home runs in Blitzkrieg Win
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg got their 2058 USPL Triple A season off to a good start, defeating the Pennsauken Flyers, 10-6. Shawn Maldonado set the pace. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Port Huron pitcher Eric Morris got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Rodrigo Herrera got the loss.

Joe Powell had a big bases-clearing double for the Blitzkrieg in the bottom of the first inning. With Port Huron leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a knuckle curve from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Rodrigo Herrera and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 4-0.

Powell told a Port Huron Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
