Fighting Dachshunds Suffer 3-2 Road Loss
Crowds lined up early in front of The Zoo in Syracuse, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2062 USPL Triple A season. On the mound was Bob Kelso for the visiting Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and Lou Bancroft for the hometown Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys. In a spirited contest, the Squirrel Monkeys pulled out the win, defeating the Fighting Dachshunds by the score of 3-2. Especially impressive was Lou Bancroft. In 7 innings, Bancroft surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs.

Syracuse took a 3-2 lead on Sidney Ames's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Ames hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ellenburg pitcher Bob Kelso visibly frustrated.
