The Baton Rouge Brass put one in the win column with an opening day 6-3 triumph over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys. The crowd at Brass Field watched Arturo Prieto put on a fine performance.

Early in the game, Prieto had a 2-run home run for Baton Rouge. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Brass on top, 3-1.

"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Baton Rouge manager Luis Ruíz.
