Syracuse and Ellenburg duked it out and the Squirrel Monkeys came out victorious.

Good production from right fielder José Padilla helped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys topple the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 5-2. Padilla was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Squirrel Monkeys. Cody Beasley earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work.

In the bottom of the third, Padilla had a 3-run home run for Syracuse. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 5-2.
