Great Effort by López Wasted in 11-8 Patriots Loss
Boston got a terrific game from first baseman Andrés López. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New Orleans, 11-8. López was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Al Hussey, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.2 innings. Picking up the save was Michael Wilson, his 4th.

Had Jorge Valdés not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Valdés hit a 2-run single. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Voodoo.

"I still think this team can play even better," Valdés told the New Orleans Daily.

The Voodoo saw their record improve to 17-10.
