|
Kansas pitcher Carter King had a large part in his team subduing the Jersey City Tritons, 7-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The loss puts Jersey City at 1-2.
King, who dominated for Kansas, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 2 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 7. Jersey City batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said King. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
