The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Baton Rouge Brass, 8-3, at Brass Field. The Squirrel Monkeys got a fine performance from catcher Thom Guerra, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The loss drops Baton Rouge to 1-2.

Syracuse used the hitting of Diego Guzmán to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 5-3. For the game, Guzmán had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
