Fighting Dachshunds Take Down Flyers, 5-4
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds overcame a pretty good performance by Pennsauken designated hitter Reinaart Zegers, beating the Flyers, 5-4, in 10 innings. Zegers went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Jody Dunn in relief. His record improves to 1-0. David Arnold took the loss. Claude Richardson got credit for the save for Ellenburg. It was his 2nd of the year.

Ellenburg used the timely hitting of Dan Meyer to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Baseball is such a beautiful game," said Meyer. "Anything can happen on any night, and that's why you don't dwell on what happened yesterday. Just look forward and trust you're going to have positive results."

The Fighting Dachshunds raised their record to 4-0.
