Boston got a terrific game from second baseman Dave Powell. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Toledo, 5-4. Powell was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Stingers go to 13-15, putting them 8th in the Premier League.
Franky Bongers had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Toledo. With the bases loaded and the Stingers leading 4-1, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We ground out the win," said Bongers. "That's all that matters."
