García Slugs Rainbow Mermaids to 7-3 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids stopped the Buffalo White Walkers, 7-3, at Atlantica. The Rainbow Mermaids got a big game from António García, who was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The winner was Marty Collins, who threw 108 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. The save went to José Ferreira, his 2nd this season.

García had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch splitter from Gilberto Cruz, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Rainbow Mermaids a 6-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for García.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said García.

The Rainbow Mermaids raised their record to 10-18.
