Bill Spillman did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Pennsauken Flyers from being beaten, 7-6, to the Jersey City Tritons at Pennsauken Park. Spillman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jersey City pitcher Manuel Pérez got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Chip Sizemore got the loss. Roberto Alegría closed it out for his 1st save.

Jersey City used a timely hit from Matt Fightmaster to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tritons ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Very good win for our guys," said Fightmaster.

The win takes Jersey City to 2-2.
