Stark Stadium was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Syracuse Starks beat the Milton Dogfish Head by a score of 7-6. Syracuse designated hitter Bill Gatacre deserved the lion's share of the credit. Gatacre was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Starks. The loss drops Milton to 1-3.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Syracuse left fielder Olvido Doesburg, facing Anthony Patterson, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Starks the 7-6 win.

"What a buzz," said Gatacre after it was over.
