Good production from first baseman Jarrod Harris helped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topple the Mexico City Blue Demons, 9-3. Harris went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Rainbow Mermaids. Pablo Valentín picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-3. He struck out 4 in 6 innings. Carlos Alaniz earned the save for Northern Virginia, his 1st.

With Northern Virginia leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Harris hit a curveball from Tom Johnston for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 3-0.

"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Harris.

Mexico City has now lost 5 straight.
