Barlow Lifts Machine to 9-5 Win
The Montreal Machine beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys by a score of 9-5. Montreal second baseman John Barlow deserved the lion's share of the credit. Barlow went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Machine. Picking up the win was Kevin Brown. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 3. Syracuse now is 4-1.

Barlow had a key at-bat for Montreal in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 4th double of the season and gave Montreal an early 3-0 lead.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Barlow.
