Fighting Dachshunds Stop Liberty Reserves, 8-4
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds topped the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves, 8-4, with third baseman Clancy Hendricks playing a big role. Hendricks went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Fighting Dachshunds in the win. Sancho Sánchez, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. With the win, Ellenburg climbs to 4-2.
Ellenburg used a clutch at-bat from Evan Cook to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We're producers not directors," said Hendricks. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
