Patriots Suffer One-Run Loss at New Orleans
The Voodoo Lounge was the site of a competitive game between the Boston Patriots and New Orleans Voodoo.

The New Orleans Voodoo did just enough to sneak past the Boston Patriots, 4-3, at The Voodoo Lounge. New Orleans pitcher Jessie Wolfe, in particular, had a standout performance. Eugene Pearce got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Had Fernando Mezzatesta not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mezzatesta hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Voodoo.

"It never gets old," said Mezzatesta. "Winning, that is."

The Voodoo improved to 16-13.
