The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds took Bakersfield pitcher Cordell Dawson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The final score had Ellenburg getting past the Nobles, 4-2. Dawson went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 10. Sancho Sánchez recorded the save for Ellenburg, his 2nd of the season. After losing, Bakersfield is 4-3.
Ellenburg took a 3-2 lead on Juan González's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which González hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bakersfield pitcher Fernando López visibly frustrated.
After the game, Ellenburg manager Pedro Rodríguez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
