On Road, Syracuse Drops Baton Rouge, 5-3
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Syracuse Starks and Baton Rouge Brass.
The Syracuse Starks dealt the Baton Rouge Brass a 5-3 loss at Brass Field. Manny Estrada was the star on offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Adam Walker got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Brass to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2.
Estrada had a key at-bat for Syracuse in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Syracuse an early 4-0 lead.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Estrada told the Syracuse Gazette.
The loss drops the Brass to 5-3.
