Cooper Helps Fighting Dachshunds Win, 9-4, with Pair of Homers
A 5-RBI performance from the 27-year old catcher Alex Cooper helped the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 9-4. Gilbert Owen got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. With the win, Ellenburg elevates its record to 5-3.

Cooper made an early impact for Ellenburg when he stroked his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Fighting Dachshunds on top, 4-1.

"It feels good to get this one," Cooper told the Ellenburg Citizen.
