Nashville got a strong outing from John McGrath as the Hot Chickens defeated the Syracuse Starks, 4-1, at Hot Chickens Park. Marlon Anderson recorded the save for Nashville, his 3rd of the season. The loss makes Syracuse 5-4.

Floyd Hoover dealt the Starks a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Nashville leading 2-1, Hoover hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said McGrath.
