The Baton Rouge Brass earned a close win over the Sacramento Redlegs, thanks in part to José Zamora. The Baton Rouge right-hander played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The win has Baton Rouge at 6-3.

Had Pepe Santos not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Santos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Brass.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sacramento manager Kyle Lucas. "But we decided not to take it."
